Goodbye 2010!

For starters...Christmas was great.  We had such a wonderful time...lots of family, food, and fun.  Sadly, my phone bit the dust this week.  I had to reset it to it's factory settings, and lost all of my pictures.  Sad.  So, if you celebrated Christmas at our house (I'm talking to you Mom, Susan, and Rachel) please send me some pictures!  :-)

We had our first white Christmas.  Buddy had a blast!

Let me just start by saying that 2010 has been wonderful.  It really has.  We've been able to do lots of fun things, and I know that 2011 will bring lots of new, happy moments for our little family.  Here are some 2010 highlights...

-January/February:  We went to the A Xi D 50th anniversary celebration in Greenville....good times.  It snowed...a lot!  We volunteered at an elementary school for the Disney Give A Day, Get a Day promotion.  Buddy got his first stuffed animal baby that he didn't eat in 10 minutes.  :-)

-March/April:  We celebrated our first year of marriage in a beautiful cabin in Tennessee.  My mom turned the big 5-0 and we had another mountain adventure.  :-)  We got all gussied up and went to Steeplechase in SC.

-May/June: I celebrated my friend Angela's birthday on the Pamlico River.  Buddy had his first adventure in swimming at Lake Norman.  Our friends Caroline and Josh & Philip and Nicole were married.  I went to Phoenix for the Child Life Conference.  We went to Disney!

-July/August: We celebrated the 4th of July in Emerald Isle.  I took Buddy to Richmond to hang out with Lora, Cody, and Duncan.  We went to Carolina Beach with Matt, Lora, Kristi, and Chris.  We went rafting at the White Water Center with my dad and Sondra.  Rachel, my mom, and I went to see Mary Poppins.  Our friends Meade and Emily got hitched.

-September/October:  Labor Day was and engagement party for Bre and Kevin in Oak Island.  We went to Carolina Beach with the Darceys for a family vacation.  I had a fun little girls' weekend at Carolina Beach.  Brandon and Amanda got married.  There were baby showers for Ashlyn and Katie, and a surprise "Baby Sprinkle" for Sarah.  And...it was football season!

-November/December:  Me, Barrett, Mom, and Kenny went to see the Panthers play the Saints.  We helped Rachel and Bubba move into their new house.  Matt turned the big 3-0.  We went to the Biltmore House.  We had Thanksgiving in Burlington.  I got to meet the Bronko Nagurski Award finalists...including Patrick Peterson from LSU.  It was Christmas!

We obviously had a blast and stayed very busy in 2010.  We are looking forward to a fun-filled, possible more relaxing, 2011.  Along with the New Year typically come New Year's Resolutions.  I am taking a page from my friend Elyse and her Pretty.Happy.Busy blog.  Choose three attainable goals that fall into these categories.

Pretty.  My pretty goal is to wash my face before I go to bed every night...no matter how tired I am!  Not only will this keep my skin pretty, but it'll keep my pillowcases pretty too!

Happy.  Be more active.  Not to exercise, lose weight, or diet.  Just to move a little more.  Take Buddy for longer walks, get outside and smell the fresh air, go hiking or camping...get out of the house and do something relaxing!

Busy.  Have less friends.  :-)  No really...this is all about learning that it's OK to say no...that I don't have to go to every event, function, party, or get together.  My friends will still be my friends if I just say no.

We hope you all have enjoyed the past year and that whether you were faced with happiness or trials and tribulations, that you look forward to 2011 with hope and excitement.

Happy New Year.  :-)
